Ecological ringtone :)

Another ecological news. :) Greenpeace launched activist ringtone to save ocean. Greenpeace is using a special ringtone and text alert sound in its campaign for a moratorium on bottom trawling in the ocean. Mike Grenville for 160characters.org reports:

“Greenpeace says that at the moment, the EU, under the influence of Spain as well as Canada, are opposed to this and developed the viral cartoon and ringtone campaign to remind supporters to take action.

The free MP3 format ringtones and an SMS alert of “Oh my God, they killed Squiddy!” can be downloaded here: Blame Canada Ringtone.”

Periodical World

Everything is periodical, your life, your mistakes, your daily rutine… just everything. And so the ringtones style is periodical. After hearing at least 10 people having the same ringtone as me I realised I want to be unique! So I searched the web and found what I was searching for – the old-time Amiga-like ringtones, just like the music in Duke Nukem :P These ringtones are just cool. All my friends want them :D cuz they are so cool, but I won’t tell them where to get them :P (it wouldn’t be so unique if I did). I use Mr. Mental V2 right now. Go and check them.

Political ringtones

According to USA Today in a city bereft of entertainment, text messaging and swapping ringtones are all the rage for young Iraqis trying to lighten their lives and political ringtones are popular. The content of the text messages and ringtones speak volumes about the state of affairs here: jokes and songs about suicide bombings, sectarianism, power outages, gas prices, Saddam Hussein and George Bush.

A popular ringtone features the music from Coolio’s Gangsta’s Paradise. But the local version includes a voice similar to Saddam’s rapping in English: “I’m Saddam, I don’t have a bomb/Bush wants to kick me/I don’t know why/smoking weed and getting high/I know the devil’s by my side.” The song concludes with: “My days are over and I’m gonna die/all I need is chili fries” as a crowd yells “Goodbye forever, may God curse you.”

Would you like these ringtones? I like music ringtones, possibly funny speaking and not sarcastic phrases like these. Thank Goodness, I am not Iraqi so I can’t consider it btw it’s very interesting.

Super Mario Ringtone at the TOP

Super Mario

Even if the latest top 40 pop and hip hop have notably dominated the Billboard Top Ten Ringtones chart, there is one ringtone that just won’t go away and will be there almost forever. The Super Mario Brothers Theme has now spent more than two years on the top ten. You can listen and download the monophonic tone for example here.

Mosquito Ringtone

Have you ever wondered how dogs can hear a whistle that makes no sound? Now most adults will wonder how teenagers are hearing their cell phone when there is no sound! The tone is 17KHz and as our ears lose the ability to hear high frequencies as we get older it means this ringtone can not be heard by the over 20s. Initially the Mosquito ringtone was meant as a deterrent to loitering teenagers, but now the tables have turned and the teenagers are using it to hear their cell phones while in class – which are supposed to be off.

Promiscuous Nelly Furtado

Nelly gained number one in Yahoo’s Top 10 song listing with her new song Promiscuous. Her steep career started in 2000 releasing her debut album Whoa, Nelly! The album Folklore (2003) wasn’t as successful as the previous one. But in 2006 she’s back on the stage with album Loose including this song – Promiscuous.
