Nokia firmware update procedure

Many people asked me lately about how to update their Nokia via the Phone Software Update website. So I decided to make up a little guide for those, who don’t have a clue how to do it. Let’s start!

1. Navigate your browser to Nokia Phone Software Update website
2. Select your model in the green box below the heading image.
   • The only model that support over-the-air update is Nokia 6131, you will need PC for the others.
3. An image of PC & phone will show up below the list. Select Update via PC.
4. Update wizard show up.
   1. First screen – minimal hardware configuration – check if yours is higher than minimal.
   2. Second screen – it’s STRONGLY RECOMMENDED to backup your data, so do it.
   3. Download the Nokia Software and install it into your PC.
5. And now the last step.
   • Connect the phone via USB cable (check if it is fully charged!)
   • Run the software
   • Let it find if there is a new firmware and install it.
