Wibree - New Bluetooth
Bluetooth’s standing reign as the standard of short-range wireless connection among gadgets may be facing some really stiff competition. Nokia Research Labs have introduced a new short-range wireless connection – Wibree, that is smaller and more energy-efficient than current Bluetooth technology. Wibree is the first open technology offering connectivity between mobile devices and small, button cell battery power devices such as watches, wireless keyboards, toys and sports sensors. This new standard will be putting through a standardization process with a number of other wireless tech firms.
